Indigenous Positions at DELWP

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning currently has Indigenous identify positions advertised around the state including Heywood. These positions are Project Firefighters and Forest and Fire Operations Officer.

 

The Project Firefighter - The Department of Environment Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) and Parks Victoria (PV) employ Project Firefighters annually to assist in fire management activities in Victoria’s national parks, State forests and Protected Public Land. Project firefighters may also be called upon to support other emergencies such as flood and storm response.

Forest and Fire Operations Officer (Indigenous Positions based at Heywood) - The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) employs Forest and Fire Operations Officers to deliver forest management activities in Victoria’s state forests and fire management activities in Victoria’s national parks, state forests and protected public land. These positions are part of our Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) teams located at regionallybased work centres across Victoria. Forest and Fire Operations Officers contribute to the ongoing effectiveness and output of the workcentre that supports liveable, inclusive and sustainable communities and thriving natural environments.
