About the event

Gunditjmara coastal camp

Gunditjmara Coastal Camp

The Gunditjmara Coastal Camp will take place along the coast of Gunditjmara country. We are thrilled to host the camp again in 2026, with a focus on the importance of our shorelines. We have numerous projects, some already underway and others about to begin, and we are eager to share them with mob.

Key Features

  • Cultural Significance: The camp will focus on the cultural heritage of the coastline. Through ongoing research with the Australian Research Council (ARC), we are uncovering more about our rich history. As the Nyamat Mirring Plan gains momentum, the coastline is becoming a key area of focus.

  • Traditional Practices: We will explore several Midden sites and discuss their significance.
