About the event

There are a number of petroleum companies proposing offshore activities. These activities have the potential to impact on Gunditjmara Nyamat Mirring (Sea Country). In order to respond to these proposals, these presentations have been offered to Gunditjmara, indepedent of the petroleum industry. The aim is for Gunditjmara to be better informed of potential impacts and enable Gunditjmara feedback on proposed offshore activities. Presentation times and presenters (with more to be confirmed):

  • Wednesday 15 May 2024, 6:30-7:30pm - Dr Ryan Day and Professor Jayson Semmens, Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies at University of Tasmania.
  • Wednesday 22 May 2024, 7:30-8:30pm - Dr Jess Melbourne Thomas, Marine Socio-ecological Systems Team in the Sustainable Marine Futures Program with CSIRO Environment.
  • Thursday 30 May 2024, 10:00-11:00am - Natalie N. Barefoot, Senior Attorney, International Oceans, Earthjustice
